PhaseRings is a musical instrument designed for creating expressive music through touch gestures. Each ring on the interface corresponds to a different pitch, allowing users to tap and swirl to generate unique combinations of long and short notes. The app offers seven distinct "sound schemes," including percussive sounds like marimba and singing bowls, alongside synth sounds like phase and string synthesis.
Moreover, PhaseRings provides three preset pitch compositions, but users can also craft their own custom compositions by selecting three base notes and scales. With 11 scales and modes to choose from, the app's generative composition engine creates dynamic setups based on the chosen harmony. Additionally, the program supports Core MIDI for iOS MIDI Accessories and MIDI-enabled apps, AudioBus Support with state saving, and Inter-App Audio Support.
